Tax Agents Register

As Tax Agents, Specialised Business Solutions Pty Ltd (SBS) is committed to upholding our professional and regulatory obligations, including with the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (TASA) which includes the Code of Professional Conduct as regulated by the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB).

SBS Tax Agent Status

Obligations

Under s45 of the Tax Agent Services (Code of Professional Conduct) Determination 2024, SBS is required to advise current and prospective tax clients of various prescribed matters as set out below.

TPB Public Register

The TPB maintains a searchable register of Tax Agents here: https://www.tpb.gov.au/public-register. The Register also includes details of past breaches of the Tax Agent Code of Professional Conduct and specific sanctions imposed on Tax Agents.

Disputes & Complaints

We want to give our clients the best experience, so if you’re unsatisfied in any way we’d like you to tell us about it. We’ll take your feedback seriously and aim to resolve your complaint in a respectful, fair and reasonable way as quickly as we can. Where your complaint concerns a Tax Agent service that SBS has provided, you also have the right to make a complaint to the TPB in accordance with their complaints process described here: https://www.tpb.gov.au/complaints.

Rights, Responsibilities & Obligations

As Tax Agents, we must comply with the TASA including the Code of Professional Conduct along with other legislative and professional standard obligations to our clients as well as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and TPB. Our clients also have obligations to comply with taxation laws, as well as being truthful with information provided, keeping complete records, and if required, providing them on a timely basis, being co-operative with requests and meeting due dates as requested by tax agents.

Events & Conditions affecting Tax Agent Registration

Tax practitioners are obliged to advise current and prospective clients of certain events which may influence their decision to engage SBS as their Tax Agent. SBS is not aware of any events that need to be disclosed.

Tax practitioners are also obliged to advise current and prospective clients whether there are any conditions attached to our registration. We confirm that there are no current conditions attached to SBS’ Tax Agent registration.
